APEM’s Photo of the Year 2019

We received over 90 entries in total, from starfish to mountains to butterflies. There was a wide variety from all over the world featuring wildlife, aerial surveys, mountains, lakes, rivers and seascapes.
We allowed entries from previous years as we recognised that, due to lockdown restrictions in 2020, photo opportunities were limited. Everyone at APEM had the chance to contribute by voting for the monthly winners, creating a shortlist of 12. Our friends at design agency Future then had the challenging task of choosing the overall winner for 2020. Thank you for your help Future!
The winner is Parablennius Gattorugine by Matthew Boa, senior consultant.
Congratulations Matt! The judges chose this image as they thought it was an unusual subject, and also a great example of macro photography (from a technical point of view).
The judges were all impressed with the shortlist. They narrowed it down to these four before picking the overall winner.
