I am one of the lead Image Analysts at APEM in the marine team. I joined APEM in September 2019.

What does your job involve?

My role at APEM primarily consists of managing and organising my team, ensuring everybody is on track and up to date with the surveys we are currently analysing. I help them to develop into the role of an Image Analyst, making sure they are comfortable with our software and identifying the varieties of wildlife species that we get in our surveys. Our surveys take us all over the world, where we identify a wide variety of avian and marine life – including rafts of auks and pods of dolphins.

I am also involved with our data organising and processing, ensuring the smooth running and transition of data across the different departments of APEM.

I am currently working from home and have my whole work set up with ID guides, camera layout documents and a dual monitor set up to help with spotting duplicate individuals where cameras overlap.
